The Role
We're looking for an outstanding Senior Electrical/Hardware Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. An ability to embrace uncertainty and continued learning is vital to this role. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems! This person will be charged with directing and executing on the development of electrical product designs, and the completion and implementation of improvements for existing products.
Responsibilities
Design and deployment of PCBs and electrical systems for proof-of-concept experimentation to production systems.
Translate system requirements into board or firmware requirements, and independently drive projects/features to completion.
Design testing plans for prototype systems, collect data, and analyze results.
Identify enhancements to existing products and formulate ideas for new products that fulfill customer needs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in an Electrical Engineering field or related experience
Experience with electronics roadmap management, including creating detailed hardware test plans and driving products through verification and early manufacturing runs
In-depth knowledge of various appliance type controls and components.
Strong analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
Experience in communicating with end users, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
Expert with industry standard PCB design tools
Experience managing vendors locally and abroad; driving fast development cycles
Experience taking a product through UL and/or CE certification process
Experience as a technical lead designing hardware systems/products that have been deployed to customers at scale
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience as a technical lead managing small teams of engineers; ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
5+ years of experience designing AgTech or connected kitchen appliances that have been successfully deployed at scale
Excellent end-to-end system debug skills; ability to operate a broad range of electronic test equipment
Experience working/partnering with mechanical engineers, botanists and industrial designers to design hydroponics, indoor farming and/or refrigeration hardware
